Larry Chambers, 61, of Hayesville passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at his residence. He was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County.

Larry was a 1972 graduate of Hayesville High School. He was a truck driver. He was a member of Ledford’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved to fish and tell big stories with his friends.

He was the son of the late Frank Ray and Louise Sellers Chambers. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Henson Chambers and Robert Chambers.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, JoAnne Chambers; two daughters, Lisa Burch and husband, Richard and Stephanie Chambers; a son, Jody Michael Chambers all of Hayesville; five grandchildren, Laney and Brody Burch and Noah, Naomi, and Samuel Chambers; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10 in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville with the Rev. Jackie Sellers officiating.

Interment will be in Ledford’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Butler, Glen Cheeks, Ray and Bill Chambers, Chris Cotton, and Michael Cothren. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends from the Roundtable.

The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville.
