Pasta with vegetables equals tasty, healthy dishes

Having been cautioned by my doctor to watch my carbs, I have made an effort to eat the kind of carbs that also deliver fiber, iron, calcium, phytonutrients and antioxidants — in other words, vegetables.
I have always liked vegetables, but I especially like comforting carbs like pasta. Few foods produce the warmth and calming effect of hot buttered, salted and peppered noodles.
So I went on a hunt for ideas for combining vegetables and pasta to get the benefits of both.
Pasta primavera is an obvious choice. This recipe from Giada De Laurentiis and www.foodnetwork.com takes a little more time because, unlike recipes that call for cooking the vegetables in boiling water, often with the pasta, it calls for roasted vegetables.
