Wallace T. Bracken
Mr. Wallace T. Bracken, 77, of Doris Drive, Blairsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 8, 2017 in the Kennestone Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Bracken was born on Aug. 5, 1939 in Clay County, the son of the late Merle Bracken and the late Lula Mease Bracken. Wallace loved trout fishing and being outdoors. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and also a daughter, Julie Cantrell, brother and sisters, Wanda White, Gwendola “Dodie” Payne, Bobby Neal and William Bill Bracken. Mr. Bracken was a member of the Roswell First Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Bracken are his loving wife and best friend, Tammy Griggs Bracken, of Blairsville; two sons and daughters in law, Tony and Nellie Bracken, of Cleveland, Ga., Tim and Tacie Jo Bracken, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Taylor and Bailey Cantrell, Caleb Bracken, Anne Elise and Dixie Leigh Williams, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives also survive.
A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. on Friday March 10, 2017 from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Tully Griggs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Trout Unlimited in honor of Wallace Bracken and may be mailed to Frank E. Glowaski PO Box 160 Culberson, NC 28903. The funds will be used for events at the Chattahoochee National Fish Hatchery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home following the services.
