Ora Davenport, 88, of Hayesville, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in a Towns County care facility. She was a native and lifetime resident of Clay County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her garden and with her blueberries. She was a member of the Shooting Creek Church of God. Ora loved her church family and working at the church.
She was the daughter of the late Barto James and Roselee Watkins Maney and the wife of the late Neal Robert Davenport, who died Jan. 15, 2008. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Robin; and a brother, James Glen Maney.
Surviving are three sons, Philip Wade Davenport and Kendra Owens, of Maryville, Tenn.; Joe Allen Davenport and Sue, of Hayesville, and Buddy Ray Davenport and Mary, of Harrison, Tenn.; two brothers, Climpson and Clifford Maney, both of Hayesville; three grandchildren, Tim, Rebecca and Debbie; seven great-grandchildren, Allen, Jacob, Timothy, Hunter, Jacob, Austin and Alex; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 17 at the Shooting Creek Church of God with the Rev. Scott Demers officiating. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rex and Ricky Maney, Tim and Hunter Davenport and Jacob and Allen Maraman.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:45 p.m. at the Shooting Creek Church of God prior to the services.
