Young Harris College seeks highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized candidates for the Assistant to the Vice President for Advancement position in the Office of Advancement to coordinate and facilitate a significant portion of the day-to-day responsibilities of the Vice President. The assistant will also manage the many operations within the Office of Advancement and be a central repository for events held on campus by maintaining a campus-wide events calendar.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1)Serve as the administrative assistant to the Vice President of Advancement, preparing and managing correspondence, travel arrangements, calendars, and daily meetings for the Vice President, answering the Vice President's office telephone and communicating with college donors, trustees, alumni and other constituents, and managing and coordinating other activities of the Vice President's office both externally as it relates to the general public, as well as internally with the offices of alumni services, marketing, advancement services, development, and other college departments;
2)Senior level administrative and general office duties involving multiple office and individual calendars, mail, fax, copying, record keeping, word processing, and telephone reception will also be required;
3)Assist Advancement Services in daily gift entry and Raiser's Edge database maintenance;
4)Manage the campus-wide calendaring function, in coordination with other college departments;
5)Provide assistance to and coordination with the President's Office as needed;
6)Prepare purchase orders and payment requests for offices within the Office of Advancement, working closely with the Business Office;
7)Monitor budgets and maintain confidential files; audit, validate and process credit card statements for employees within the Office of Advancement;
8)Manage and supervise work-study students and interns;
9)Assist with the planning and coordination of Advancement special functions, luncheons and dinners.
Qualified candidates should have bachelor's degree or four to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in higher education. Applicants must be highly proficient with MS Office. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge and budget software is a plus.
